The blessing and curse in this age of Social Media is that people can say how much they love you, for all to see.
While at the same time, someone can write you a terrible review, and there’s very little recourse you have,
even if it is false information.
The problem is most business owners don’t know there are negative reviews out there about them, and
also don’t realize how much it is costing them in lost business, as a result.
Let’s be honest, some businesses deserve bad reviews, and there’s not much help for them.
- Poor Service
- Bad Product offering
- Bad management/ownership
- Outrageous pricing (predatory pricing)
But many of the bad reviews that are written might represent a snapshot of lapse in judgement by an employee,
or someone (customer or employee) having a bad day, but they are not truly representative of a company’s
true outstanding performance.
- Disgruntled employee trying to inflict harm on their former employer
- Client having a bad day, that’s going to take it out on anyone in their path, including your business
- Poorly implemented recipe by a new cook in the kitchen, doesn’t mean the whole restaurant is terrible
While we can’t “erase” the bad reviews out there, there are strategies we use to diminish their potency, and instead
fill that space with dozens of GREAT reviews that more accurately describe the true nature of your business.
We DO NOT use “made up” testimonials to accomplish this,
and do not advise this to anyone as a strategy to use!
We DO recommend and help businesses implement processes that allow you to get true
feedback from your clients, giving you more control over what gets posted online.
Not to say a rogue commented is never going to get posted, but there will be a wealth
of positive testimonials, that far outweigh what most consumers will allow as a
periodic slip up.
The upside to this is that you are not only repairing damage done, but the processes
